Waste Water Odour Control Systems

Treatment of domestic wastewater generates odours which can be strong, persistent and a nuisance to residents, business and factories which may be located close to the treatment plant.

Odours which are naturally generated in the wastewater process include hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, carbon dioxide, skatoles, mercaptans, amines, and indoles.  Odours are generated in varying degrees throughout the treatment plant with the main odour generating from plant influent areas, clarifiers, digesters, aeration lagoons and sludge handling areas. Each treatment plant has its own problem areas; all can be remedied with the use of MEC’s misting systems.
